Division of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering is one of the active research and educational divisions at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Division of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering as the largest division at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has 2 members with the rank of associate professor and 6 members with the rank of assistant professor.

It conducts research activities in different and new areas of telecommunications including wireless and mobile telecommunications, signal and image processing, optical telecommunications, microwave and antenna design, radar, and sonar.

The purpose of the establishment of this division is to educate the expert human force necessary for universities, telecommunications companies, and industries. Among objectives and visions of opening the mentioned division is to remove the technical problems in the southeast zone of the country within research and industrial projects. The members of the Division of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering have joint research projects and students with prestigious local and foreign universities and public and private organizations as well.

Division of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering at GUAT accepts students for Masters degree programs in majors of field telecommunications, system telecommunications, and micro and Nano electronic devices.

The research and educational areas of each of the majors precisely are as follows:

Telecommunications (Major: Field and Waves) Microwave passive parts, microwave active circuits, types of antenna, integrated waveguides in the sub-layer field, Gap waveguides, radar, measurement method in indoors and outdoors, complex environments, metamaterials, electromagnetics absorptions,

Telecommunications (Major: Systems) Wireless telecommunications systems, optical telecommunications systems, heterogeneous cellular systems, MIMO and millimeter waves, ad-hoc and wireless sensor networks, digital signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, image processing, speech processing

Electronics (Major: Micro and Nano Electronic Devices), Nano sensors, nano electronics devices, internet of things

The establishment of optical telecommunications and also opening Ph.D. degree programs at different majors are in the blueprint of this division.
