Structural engineering is a subfield of civil engineering working mainly on designing structural systems with the aim to make structures resist against different forces and improve their bearing capacity. This major mostly focuses on designing building and non-building structures, as well as playing a role in designing different machinery, medical equipment, vehicles, furniture, and any item in which structural integrity affects the items functionality and/or safety. Indeed, structural engineering deals with structures of load transfer from building parts to a support structure.
