Department of Telecommunications and Electronics

History, objectives, vision, mission, etc.

The department of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering is one of the active research and educational departments at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Department of Telecommunications and Electronics as one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering has two faculty members with the rank of associate professor and six faculty members with the rank of assistant professor.

It conducts research activities in different and new areas of telecommunications including wireless and mobile telecommunications, signal and image processing, optical telecommunications, microwave and antenna design, radar, and Sonar (sound navigation ranging).

The purpose of the establishment of this field is to educate the expert human force necessary for universities, telecommunications companies, and industries. Among the objectives and visions of opening the mentioned field are to solve the technical problems in the southeast zone of the country through research and industrial projects. Faculty members of the Department of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering have joint research projects and students with prestigious local and foreign universities and public and private organizations as well.

Department of Telecommunications Engineering at GUAT accepts students for Masters degree programs in majors of field telecommunications, system telecommunications, and micro and nanodevices.

The research and educational areas of each of the majors precisely are as follows:

Telecommunications (Major: field) Microwave passive parts, microwave active circuits, types of antenna, integrated waveguides in the sub-layer field, Gap waveguides, radar section surface, measurement method in open and closed space, complex environments, metamaterials, electromagnetics absorptions,

Telecommunications (Major: system) wireless telecommunications systems, optical heterogeneous cellular systems, wave, Ad-hoc network, and wireless sensor, digital signal processing, model retrieve, machine learning, MIMO mm and image processing, verbal processing

Electronics (Major: Micro and Nanodevices), Nanosensors, Nanoelectronics devices, object internet

The establishment of optical telecommunications and also the opening of Ph.D. degree programs in different majors are in the blueprint of this Department.
