Faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering

The presence of large industries and mines around Kerman province has converted it into one of the industrial provinces in the country. Due to the daily increasing needs of the country, these industries are expanding day by day. Meeting the increasing daily needs of these industries is not possible but by employing an expert and skilled workforce.

In line with these objectives, the Kerman Graduate University of Advanced Technology as one of the largest academic bodies in the province has taken action to train experts who are needed by these industries.

The faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of this university was established in 2017 with three departments: Design and Construction (2013), Materials (2012), and Energy Conversion and Systems (2007) and in cooperation with 10 full-time faculty members.

Faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (Dean: Dr. Hadi Ebrahimifar)

Department of Materials Engineering: Head: Dr. Hadi Ebrahimifar)

Department of Energy Conversion and Systems (Head: Dr. Morteza Abdolzadeh)

Department of Design and Construction (Head: Dr. Emad Jomezadeh)

UT external collaborators:

The speed of world scientific and industrial progress is so high to the extent that it is not possible to be in agreement with this without having an effective link with industries and other scientific centers. The Faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering has established different scientific and industrial links with universities, institutes, and industries inside and outside the country.

The list of these centers is available on the webpage of departments.

Research areas:

At present, the Faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering has three majors: Materials engineering, energy conversion, and systems engineering, and applied design and construction engineering. The corresponding research areas with each of these measures are available on the web pages of the departments.

Project for the Expansion of Faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering

1.    Presenting applied design engineering Ph.D. program

2.    Presenting energy conversion Ph.D. program

3.    New inter-disciplinary programs

4.    Recruiting faculty members to reinforce the academic capabilities

5.    Equipping the existing labs

6.    Presenting lab, workshop, and scientific services to the industries and institutes
